5 Eid-ul Adha Practices and Etiquettes

1. Taking a bath before going out to Eid Prayer

2. Eating after the Prayer on Eid-ul Adha

It is recommended that one should refrain from eating/drinking from Subuh prayer until the commencement of the Eidul Adha prayer.

3. Declaring the greatness of Allah (Takbir)

Refer here for the Takbir transliteration.

4. Congratulating and exchanging good greetings to one another

Examples of greetings include “Taqabbal Allah minna wa minkum” (May Allah accept [good deeds] from us and you) or “Eid Mubarak” or “Have a blessed Eid”.

Prayers are followed by visits with family and friends, and the exchange of greetings and gifts.
